Every order, from every channel, in one queue

Orders arrive by email, text, phone, portal and EDI, often before dawn. Stockwell reads each one into the same format, checks every line against available stock, and flags what needs a person before picking starts.

What taking orders usually looks like

  • Orders spread across inboxes, phones and a portal, keyed in by hand.
  • A short line found at the loading dock, not at order entry.
  • An early-morning change that never reaches the pick list.

How it works in Stockwell

  1. 01Connect every channel

Inboxes, text, phone, your portal and EDI all feed one order queue.

  2. 02Read every line

Stockwell reads each order and matches every line to a product, unit and price.

  3. 03Check against stock

Each line is checked against available stock, so a short shows up at entry.

  4. 04Route what needs a person

Complete orders go straight to picking. Shorts and substitutions wait for sales to approve.

One queue for every channel

Every order, whatever it came in on, sits in one queue in one format, with its status and its delivery run.

Shorts caught at order entry

The order intake workflow checks stock on every line. Orders with enough stock are allocated on their own; the rest go to a person with a substitute already proposed.

Stock cover policy

Cover is worked out on available stock: on hand, less what sales have already allocated.

  • Review when available stock is under 2 days of cover.
  • Critical when cover with everything inbound falls short of the supplier’s lead time.
  • Overstock when cover with incoming supply goes past 14 days.

Order enough for the lead time plus one week of demand, rounded to the pack. Stockwell recommends; a buyer approves.

Order size

Give a range up to 20% above the base quantity so the buyer can choose within it. Never order past a product’s shelf life at expected sales.

Who decides

Stockwell recommends. A buyer approves every purchase, and any order over $10,000 needs a second approval.

Which order channels does Stockwell read?

Email, text, phone, customer portal and EDI orders all land in the same queue.

What happens when a line is short?

The order is flagged at entry and Stockwell proposes a substitute within the customer’s rules. Sales approves before anything changes.

Does every order need a person?

No. Complete orders with stock behind them go straight through. A person only sees the ones that need a decision.

Taking orders in five places?

Bring a morning’s orders from each channel. We’ll show you what one queue looks like in Stockwell.
